Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits Live by Rob Garrett

ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY is still thrilling audiences in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.

The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.

In addition to being one of the biggest selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.

Ask Alexa “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.

In 1995, Garrett was selected by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was meant here to be a short engagement turned into a three-year residency.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to create his own tribute production.

He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”

He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.

Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.

Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
